David Findlay was a local District Councillor for Countesthope for over 12 years and during that time, he helped residents with housing issues and spoken out against inappropriate developments.
During his time as a District Councillor, he was supportive of the need for more affordable homes to be built which would give more people the opportunity to get on the housing ladder. It would also improve access to social housing by supporting the development of more rural exception sites.
Since 2015, he has been Chair of the Leicestershire Police Scrutiny Panel on Hate Crime. The work done by this panel during this period has helped improve how the Police help and support victims of Hate Crimes.
He has an interest both locally and nationally on a range of issues including Mental Health issues and how these issues impact on all members of society.
He is also passionate about the rights of LGBT individuals. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, enjoying country walks and is a member of RNID due to his personal experience with hearing loss.
